Abraham Kwasi
Padi the Chief Executive of Silicon Travel & Tour and Silicon
Valley Associates was born on 8th May 1950 in Accra. He attended
the Somanya Presbyterian Primary School from 1953 to 1961 and then
to Sra Presbyterian Middle Boys School from 1961 and was later transferred
to Sunyani Boahen korkor Middle School where he obtained his Middle
School Leaving Certificate.
He entered the Ghana Empire Secondary School in 1967 and obtained
'O' Level Certificate of Examination in 1972. Abraham Kwasi Padi
attended the Accra Workers College from 1972 - 1974 where he obtained
his Advance Level Certificate of Examination with a higher Stage
Certificate of London Chamber of Commerce.
He worked with Pacico Ghana Limited Until 1978 when he formed his
first company Gottfarms ( Trading & Farms) after obtaining an Affiliate
Certificate from the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management(UK)
which is equivalent to the first Degree.
On 1st April 1980 he was appointed as a sole representative of Woodhouse
Drake & Carey (Cocoa) Limited, United Kingdom. His duty as a buying
agent was to buy Ghana Cocoa from the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company
in Accra on behalf of his principals, Woodhouse Drake & Carey UK
Limited. The sale of Cocoa is done by bidding on the international
market in Accra. His annual turnover was around half a million pounds
(£500,000.00). In 1987 Woodhouse Drake & Carey U.K went into receivership
and all its offices world-wide, like Hongkong, New York, Paris,
Geneva ceased trading after being in business for nearly 250 years.
In 1983, he was elected a Member of the Institute of Sales & Marketing
Management which is equivalent to the Master degree from the Institute
of Sales & Marketing Management. (U.K).
Then during the same year Mr. Abraham Kwasi Padi took other consultancy
worked with companies such as S. Figgs & Company Limited, Marshall
French & Lucas, Mees & Hope Futures Limited all in the United Kingdom.
It was in 1987 that Gottfarms (Trading & Farms) changed its name
to Silicon.
A travel company was established under the name Silicon Travel &
Tours Limited while all the consultancy work came under Silicon
Valley Associates Limited. Through his hardwork Silicon Travel &
Tours Limited obtained the IATA Licence on 16th April, 1993, with
IATA number 24 - 253493.
In 1994, he was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Sales & Marketing
Management (U.K), which is equivalent to the Phd. Degree.
Silicon Valley Associates also offered consultancy to Transmar Futures
(U.K) Limited from 1994 - 1998. Today, he is the Chief Executive
of both companies - and through his hard work Silicon Travel & Tours
Limited is one of the leading incoming and outgoing tour operators
in Ghana. He has contributed immensely towards Ghana tourist industry.
His company is the accredited agent for the European Travel Network
Internet with over 9500 hotels, car hire, shops for which Ghana
has joined recently to boost tourism in the country.
Silicon Valley Associates Ltd. Has been appointed the marketing
consultants for Black Meetings and Tourism Magazine in West Africa.

Consultant for F&M Cocoa Limited(U.K) 1998 - 2000.
As Tourism Consultants he has represented the Ghana Tourist Board
and Ministry of Tourism at many international tourism trade fairs,
seminars and conferences and this has increased his company volume
of sales. It is in recognition of this achievement that his company
won 2 awards.
The 1998 Greater Accra Regional Tour/ Travel Agency of the Year
Award as well as the 1998 Ghana National Tour/Travel Agency of the
Year. These Awards were presented in July 10,199 and September 25,1999
respectively by Ghana Tourist Board with the assistance from Ministry
of Tourism.
